Hospital Outlier Committee

committeeThere are two outlier review committees required by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) that  review all hospital outliers for each study cohort.  In fiscal years when a hospital is categorized as a statistical outlier, these committees reviews the clinical information to determine if there are systemic reasons why the hospital performed not as expected.  The committee members work closely with the DPH and the identified hospital staff to address any issues.

Reasons why we need you

  • We need your clinical knowledge, and
  • Your experience as a physician
